Born on March 8, 2002, Devokeyous Keyshawn Hamilton, known professionally as LAZER DIM 700, is an American rapper and songwriter from Cordele, Georgia. He is recognized for his unique “off-the-dome” rapping style, which is often delivered over chaotic, bass-heavy beats. His sound has been described as a blend of Young Nudy and Playboi Carti, defining him as one of Atlanta’s most thrilling and eccentric new rappers.

Early life and influences

Humble beginnings: He started making music by recording vocals on one phone while playing beats on another.

According to reports in 2025 according to Forbes, Jay-Z is the richest rapper in the world, with an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion. Since 2025, the rankings for the richest rappers continue to be dominated by entrepreneurs who have built fortunes far beyond their music careers. Jay-Z is widely recognized as the wealthiest, but the status of others on the list, particularly Kanye West and Diddy, is subject to conflicting reports and recent controversies.

Top 10 richest rappers of 2025:

1. Jay-Z

Net Worth: $2.6 billion

Source of Wealth: Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s fortune comes primarily from his business empire, which includes his Roc Nation entertainment company, Armand de Brignac champagne, and significant investments in companies like Block (formerly Square) and Uber.

2. Kanye West

Net Worth: $2.77 billion (disputed)

In January 2025, West shared an estimate from Eton Venture Services valuing his net worth at $2.77 billion, based on his music catalog and the Yeezy brand. However, some financial sources, like Forbes, place his net worth much lower after the termination of his partnership with Adidas. While Forbes reported his net worth at $400 million after the termination of his partnership with Adidas, West himself has posted figures claiming a much higher net worth based on internal valuations of his Yeezy brand and music catalog.

3. Dr. Dre

Net Worth: $500 – 850 million

Source of Wealth: Andre “Dr. Dre” Young continues to earn from his legendary music career and his record label, Aftermath Entertainment. His biggest windfall, however, came from the 2014 sale of his Beats Electronics company to Apple for $3 billion.

4. Diddy

Net Worth: $400 million

Source of Wealth: Sean “Diddy” Combs has seen a significant decline in his net worth from a peak of nearly $1 billion. This is due to recent legal troubles that have led to lost business deals, brand endorsements, and a vast accumulation of legal fees.

5. Drake

Net Worth: $250–$280 million

Source of Wealth: The Canadian superstar’s fortune comes from his music streaming royalties, extensive global tours, and lucrative brand deals, including a reported $400 million contract with Universal Music Group signed in 2022.

6. Eminem

Net Worth: $250–$260 million.

Source of Wealth: Eminem earns from consistent music sales, streams, his record label Shady Records, and his successful film and media ventures, such as the semi-autobiographical movie 8 Mile.

7. Pharrell Williams

Net Worth: $250 million.

Source of Wealth: The celebrated artist and producer’s wealth is built on his work with The Neptunes, solo career, and fashion ventures, including his role as the creative director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear.

8. Master P

Net Worth: $200 million

Source of Wealth: Percy “Master P” Miller has diversified his wealth across music, film, real estate, and consumer products, including his own record label, No Limit Records.

9. Lil Wayne

Using the stage name King Nasty, Brenda Biya launched a music career as a rapper. She also started an online store, Bree Culture Inc Shopping, which sells wigs and hair extensions.

She is an active user of social media, where her posts and opinions often stir controversy and are widely reported by the media. In September 2025, from her room at the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva, costing €3200 (2.1 million francs CFA) a night in a viral video on TikTok, Biya called on Cameroonians not to vote for her father in the upcoming presidential election, accusing him of causing suffering to the country and their family. She later retracted her statement, apologized, and praised her father as an “excellent candidate,” claiming she was not knowledgeable about politics.

In July 2024, Biya publicly came out as a l€sbian on Instagram by posting a photo kissing Brazilian model Layyons Valença. This created a major stir, given that same-s€x relations are illegal in Cameroon and punishable with up to five years in prison.

Brenda Biya has been open about her struggles with health issues, including Graves’ disease and thyroid problems, which she believes have contributed to her mood swings.

Her high-profile lifestyle and lavish spending, especially during her time abroad, have drawn criticism from many Cameroonians, given the high poverty rates in the country.

In October 2020, she was targeted by activists from the Anti-Sardinard Brigade (a group fighting against her father’s regime) at a luxury hotel in Paris, who demanded her eviction. Biya left the hotel the next day.

In May 2025, Biya was found guilty of defamation in Geneva after insulting singer Dencia on social media. The trial also revealed that Biya had been living for extended periods at a luxury hotel in Geneva.

Brenda Biya has an estimated net worth of $5 million that’s around 2.8 billion francs CFA.

Cameroonian rapper Tilla (Tilla Tafari, Godmother, Godmother Don Dada), real names Bongkiya Venagesho Lantum Bertilla was born on the 26th January, 1991 in Bamenda, the Northwest Region of Cameroon. She is of Nso and Wimbum ethnic group.

The rapper’s music combines rap, dancehall, Afro-fusion, and local styles. She started her music career at a very young age, by age 10 (class 7 in school) she was already composing. She has been signed to some major labels in Cameroon; notably New Bell Music by fellow rapper Jovi, released her own EPs and albums, and is also an entrepreneur and mother. Tilla released her first official single“Alhadji”, under Magasco’s label BBOY Records.

She has been both celebrated for her voice in Cameroonian rap, especially among women and Anglophone regions, and faced challenges including business loss and mental health struggles. Tilla has been involved in the restaurant business. In 2023 she reported that her elder sister mismanaged her restaurant (while she was away) and that everything (equipment, stock, revenue) was gone. The restaurant-business betrayal in 2023 seems to have been a major setback in her non-musical ventures.

She is a mother to a son named Bitjoka Lantum Ulrich Zion. Tilla has an estimated net worth of $500 (250,000FCFA).
