John Dumelo

John Dumelo is a Ghanaian actor, farmer and politician who was born on the 3rd of February 1984 in Hohoe, Volta Region, Ghana. Married to Gifty Mawunya Nkornu, and they have three children. 

Education: He began his education at Christ the King International School in Accra, Ghana. He later attended the prestigious Achimota School, where he was an active member of the Drama Club. He attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Dumelo pursued a degree in Civil Engineering at KNUST. During his time there, he also participated in and won the “Mr. University” competition. He enrolled in GIMPA’s School of Public Service and Governance. In January 2024, Dumelo announced on Instagram that he had graduated with a Master’s Degree in Law (Natural Resources) from the University of Ghana. The university also honored him in 2023 for his philanthropic contributions to its Students’ Financial Aid.

John Dumelo has built significant wealth through his multifaceted career. He is the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, serves as the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, and is also a successful entrepreneur. 

Considered as Ghana’s most popular actor of all time; Dumelo started his acting career in the early 1990s while still attending school and was paid 20 thousand Ghana cedis when he was just 7 years old.
