Juma Bah

Abdulai Juma Bah who was born on April 11, 2006 is a Sierra Leonean professional footballer who plays as a center-back for Ligue 1 club Nice, on loan from Premier League club Manchester City, and the Sierra Leone national team.

Career: Bah was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He grew up in the Congo Market neighborhood of Freetown and helped his parents in their bakery in his youth. He began playing barefoot in street games before joining the Freetown Giant Academy. In April 2021, he was signed by AIK Freetong, a third-tier club. Bah was loaned to Freetonians SLIFA, a team in the Sierra Leone Premier League, where he spent two seasons and captained the side in the 2023-2024 season.

Valladolid and Manchester City: In August 2024, Bah joined Real Valladolid on a one-year loan, initially playing for their B team before making his La Liga debut against Real Sociedad on September 21, 2024. He became the first Sierra Leonean to play in La Liga. Valladolid exercised an option to sign him permanently in January 2025, with a release clause of €6 million. Bah subsequently triggered his release clause and joined Manchester City. There was a dispute surrounding the move, with Valladolid accusing Manchester City of prompting him to break his contract.

Loan spells and international career: Bah was immediately loaned to RC Lens in France’s Ligue 1 for the remainder of the 2024–25 season, and then joined OGC Nice on loan for the 2025–26 season.

He made his UEFA Champions League qualifying debut with Nice in August 2025. Bah was called up to the Sierra Leone national team for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification matches in May 2024 and has since made his full debut. He was nominated for the Golden Boy award in 2025.
