Makon

Yong Mark Ndi, known professionally as Makon, is a Cameroonian singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.

He is recognized for his contributions to the Cameroonian music industry and his efforts to empower women and girls through his foundation. His hit singles include ‘Hosanna,’ ‘Kossa ft Rich Khasino,’ ‘Pepper,’ and others.

• Origin: Born on March 20, 1997, Makon hails from Fundong in the Boyo Division of the Northwest Region of Cameroon.
• Education: He completed his primary education at CBC Mutengene. After completing his secondary education, Makon attended the University of Buea (UB), where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. 

Musical career: Makon started his musical career in Buea before moving to Douala.

• Rise to fame: He quickly gained recognition in the industry, taking his career into his own hands and building a successful music brand.
• Unique sound: He is known for not sticking to one musical style, exploring various genres and having “no limits” to his creativity.

• Collaborations: Makon has collaborated with notable Cameroonian artists such as Mimie, Rich Khasino, and Ko-c.
• Recent projects: In July 2024, he released an EP titled Life of a Black Boy, featuring songs like “Pepper”, “Lifestyle”, “Alcohol”, “Pretty”, and “Baller”. He also announced plans for an album release in January 2025. 
• One Touch Entertainment: Makon established his own entertainment company, One Touch Entertainment.
• Makon Care Foundation: He founded the Makon Care Foundation, a registered organization dedicated to humanitarian efforts. The foundation focuses on providing medical care and educational assistance for mothers and children.
• Empowering Women Through Arts: Makon, through his foundation, is actively involved in empowering women and girls. In 2024, he announced a campaign called “Empowering Women Through Arts” which includes workshops, conferences, and concerts aimed at promoting gender equality.
