Administration: He was elected President of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) in December 2021. Eto’o has overseen significant increases in subsidies for Elite One and Elite Two clubs, as well as higher prize money for winners of the Cameroon and League One championships. Controversies:  He has faced controversy during his presidency, including allegations of match-fixing and inappropriate conduct.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) launched an investigation into Eto’o for alleged improper conduct in August 2023, following accusations of match-fixing, mismanagement, and corruption.

A dispute has arisen regarding the validity of FECAFOOT’s statutes and Eto’o’s eligibility to run for re-election, given a past conviction for tax fraud in Spain. The Cameroonian government has intervened, emphasizing the use of previously approved statutes.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee sanctioned Eto’o with a six-month ban from attending matches of Cameroon’s representative teams for breaches of disciplinary codes; offensive behavior. This ban stemmed from the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup match between Brazil and Cameroon in September 2024.
