There is no “Top 10” list of the richest people in Cameroon for 2025, as financial disclosures are not publicly available and rankings from different sources often vary or are outdated. However, several individuals are consistently named as the wealthiest and most influential business figures in the country.

In 2016, Forbes Afrique listed Baba Ahmadou Danpullo as the richest Cameroonian in Francophone sub-Saharan Africa with an estimated net worth of $920 million, followed by Paul Fokam Kammogne, who was at the helm of the banking group Afriland First Group, with about $690 million.

1. Baba Ahmadou Danpullo – Net Worth: $940 million

El Hadj Baba Ahmadou Danpullo is widely considered the richest Cameroonian and the wealthiest in Central Africa. His fortune is estimated at $940 million (561 billion CFA francs). He has investments in various sectors including telecommunications (Nexttel Cameroon), real estate, agriculture (Ndawara Tea Estates), and airport services.

2. Paul Kammogne Fokam – Net Worth: $690 million

The  founder of Afriland First Bank, a major banking group across Africa, has been featured on previous Forbes lists of Africa’s wealthiest individuals. In a 2016 Forbes Africa list, he was ranked among the top richest in Francophone sub-Saharan Africa, with assets estimated at $690 million (384 billion CFA francs).  He is the richest Bamileke.

3. Samuel Foyou – Net Worth: $410 million

A “Jack-of-all-trades” industrialist with diverse investments including beverages (Brasaf), plastics, matches, and hotels (Krystal Beach Hotel). His net worth is estimated at $410 million.

4. Colin Ebarko Mukete – Net Worth: $380 million

A prominent businessman with stakes in telecommunications, including MTN Cameroon. His estimated net worth is $380 million. He holds a substantial stake in MTN Cameroon, one of the leading mobile network operators in the country. Colin Ebarko Mukete is also a key figure in the Mukete family, which holds significant business interests and influence, particularly in the South-West region of Cameroon.

5. Nana Bouba – Net Worth: $310 million

The founder of Nana Bouba Group, with an empire in agro-food, finance, industry, construction, and real estate. His wealth was estimated at $310 million (184 billion francs CFA) in 2015.

6. Sylvestre Ngouchinghe – Net Worth: $280 million

A senator and owner of the seafood import and distribution company Congelcam SA. His fortune was estimated at $285 million in 2024. Congelcam is a dominant player in the import, distribution, and marketing of frozen fish and other seafood products in Cameroon. It operates a vast network across the country, making him a key figure in the nation’s food supply chain for these products.

7. Kate Fotso – Net Worth: $252 million

In 2016, Forbes Africa named Kate Fotso the richest woman in Cameroon, thanks to her dominance in the cocoa export market. Known as the “Queen of Cocoa,” she controls a significant portion of Cameroon’s cocoa exports through Telcar Cocoa Ltd. She is also a shareholder in Ecobank Cameroon. The richest woman in Cameroon has an estimated net worth of over $252 million, according to Forbes.

8. Céline Koloko Sohaing – Net Worth: $240 million

Céline Koloko Sohaing controls the Sohaing family’s wealth. Céline Koloko Sohaing’s fortune stems from her inheritance of and leadership within the Sohaing family’s business empire, which is primarily focused on the hospitality and real estate sectors in Cameroon. While the exact net worth of the family and Céline herself is not publicly disclosed, they are considered one of the wealthiest families in Central Africa.

She is the daughter of the late Cameroonian billionaire André Sohaing, who passed away in 2015. She inherited a large portion of her father’s assets and has been entrusted with managing the family’s legacy.

The luxury 4-star hotel Hotel Akwa Palace in Douala is the family’s most renowned asset. Céline Koloko Sohaing serves as an administrator and commercial director of the hotel, successfully running it after her father’s death.

9. The Kadji Family – Net Worth: $205 million

The Kadji family has a significant fortune in Cameroon, inherited from industrialist Joseph Kadji Defosso, who built it on a diversified empire that included brewing, real estate, and other sectors, worth an estimated $210 million by Forbes in 2016. Joseph Kadji Defosso’s children, including Gilbert and Nicole, continue to manage and grow this empire, which remains one of the largest in the country.

The family owns the Union Camerounaise de Brasseries (UCB), a major brewery, as well as investments in insurance and hotels. They also have extensive real estate holdings. The family owns hotel properties, including K-Hotel in Douala.

10. Mohamadou Bayero Fadil – Net Worth: $180 million

CEO of the Fadil Group, an agro-industrial conglomerate involved in soap manufacturing, edible oils, livestock farming, and hotels. His net worth is estimated at $180 million.
