Ijeoma “Mercedes” Emi

Ijeoma Emi, popularly known as Mercedes, is a Nigerian entrepreneur, massage therapist and performance artist who became known nationally after appearing on Big Brother Naija Season 11 (Show Ya Sef) in 2026. She represented Delta State and stood out for her expressive personality, confidence and creative background.

Early Life and Education

Ijeoma Victoria Emi, is from Delta State and was born on September 22, 2000. She grew up in Lagos and studied Physiology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. 

Career and Business

Before reality television, Mercedes developed a diverse professional identity. She worked as a massage therapist and performance artist and also operated a concierge business. Her entrepreneurial side, combined with her interest in performance, allowed her to build a career that blended business and entertainment.

Mercedes described herself as hardworking, ambitious and fun-loving. She entered BBNaija determined to show different sides of her personality, including her confidence and vulnerability. Mercedes joined the 24-housemate cast of BBNaija Season 11, which premiered on 26 July 2026. She said she wanted to bring authenticity, entertainment, confidence and vulnerability to the show. Her energetic personality quickly made her noticeable during the opening weeks, including her interactions with fellow housemates and performances during house activities.

Her BBNaija journey, however, was brief. On 9 August 2026, Mercedes and Martins Iyeh were evicted in the season’s first double eviction. Mercedes received 2.29% of the public vote, according to Channels Television.
