Melanie Ngoga popularly known as Mimie, was born on the 11th of January 1991 in Douala Cameroon. She is a Cameroonian singer, song writer and performer. She grew up in Douala but went to school in Buea at the government school Molyko. Following an interview she is said to have started her musical career when she was 11 and wrote her first song when she was 13.

Mimie belongs to the Bamileke tribe. Her place of origin is Balengou in the West region of Cameroon.

Her professional career started in 2013 when Stanley Enow gave her an opportunity to sing with him at the ifest 2013. In 2017 Mimie was officially part of the record label Empire Company owned by the popular artist Pit Bacardi who also signed artist like Magasco.
