Mpendulo Dube

Mpendulo Dube Biography

Mpendulo Dube, popularly known simply as Dube, is a South African reality television personality who became known to a wider audience through Big Brother Mzansi Season 6, Bazozwa in 2026.

The 22-year-old from Jolivet, KwaZulu-Natal, was working as a telesales agent and living in Johannesburg when he got his second major opportunity with the Big Brother franchise. Dube had previously appeared as a potential contestant on Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo, but he was not selected to enter the house.

When the opportunity came again in Season 6, Dube was determined not to let it pass him by.

Early Life and Background

Mpendulo Dube is originally from Jolivet in KwaZulu-Natal, although he was living in Johannesburg when he entered Big Brother Mzansi. Public information about his childhood, family and education is limited, so Dube has kept much of his early life away from the spotlight.

What is clear is that family has played an important role in his life.

After leaving the Big Brother house, Dube said his family’s unwavering love and support helped him deal with the disappointment and emotions that came with his earlier experience with the show.

His background in KwaZulu-Natal and his move to Johannesburg also reflect a familiar journey for many young South Africans looking for better career and creative opportunities in the country’s major cities.

Career Before Big Brother

Before becoming a reality-TV personality, Dube worked as a telesales agent.

Telesales requires confidence, communication skills and the ability to connect with different kinds of people, qualities that later became useful inside the Big Brother house.

Dube was also interested in entertainment and creative work. Some profiles describe him as being involved in areas such as DJing and content creation, although his official Season 6 profile listed his occupation as telesales agent.

His personality was also closely connected to fashion and self-expression. Big Brother’s introduction described him as someone with plenty of style, versatility and confidence.

His First Big Brother Opportunity

Dube’s Big Brother story actually began before Season 6.

He appeared as a potential housemate during Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo, but he was not selected to enter the house. That experience could easily have discouraged him.

Instead, Dube decided to keep trying.

When asked what encouraged him after being sent home during that earlier opportunity, he explained that he knew he had not truly made it into the house and was determined to apply again until he got his chance.

That persistence eventually paid off.

Joining Big Brother Mzansi Season 6

In January 2026, Dube finally entered the Big Brother Mzansi house as one of the contestants on Season 6, Bazozwa.

At 22 years old, he was one of the younger housemates. He represented Jolivet, KwaZulu-Natal, while living in Johannesburg and working as a telesales agent.

His return to the franchise gave him an opportunity to complete a story that had started with disappointment in the previous season.

This time, he was officially a housemate.

Mpendulo Dube Biography

Dube’s Personality

Dube presented himself as confident, stylish, sociable and determined.

He was not afraid to express himself and quickly became part of the social life inside the house. He also had a playful side, enjoying parties, conversations and spending time with other contestants.

At the same time, Dube showed that he was capable of reflecting on his experiences.

After leaving the show, he said that his 35 days in the house allowed him to discover more about himself than he had expected. He described the experience as exhausting but rewarding and said he tried to remain himself regardless of what was happening around him.

His attitude after the show was summed up by a simple idea: he entered as Dube and left as Dube.

His Big Brother Strategy

Dube was not simply interested in making friends. He also wanted to compete.

His approach combined social interaction with strategic thinking. He understood that Big Brother was a game where relationships, nominations and leadership could all affect how long a contestant remained in the house.

That became particularly clear when he won the Head of House title in Week 2. His HoH victory gave him an important position in the house and made him more influential in the game’s nominations and decisions.

It was one of the biggest highlights of his short run.

Life Inside the House

Dube developed several friendships during his time in Big Brother Mzansi.

After his eviction, he spoke positively about his relationships with fellow housemates, particularly his bromance with Mmeli, The Don and Ashay.

He also mentioned enjoying cooking sessions with Bravo B, along with the parties, challenges and general craziness that came with living in the Big Brother house.

For Dube, these relationships became some of his favourite memories from the show.

He acknowledged that the house could become intense, but he believed that even the difficult moments taught him something.

Dube and the Big Brother Experience

One interesting thing about Dube’s journey was his perspective on finally becoming a housemate.

Because he had previously experienced the disappointment of not being selected, entering the Season 6 house meant much more to him than simply appearing on television.

It represented persistence.

He had tried once, failed to make it into the house, and then came back when another opportunity presented itself.

That determination became one of the defining parts of his Big Brother story.

Eviction

Dube’s journey came to an end during Week 5 of the competition.

He was evicted on Day 35, alongside Neliswa Ngada, who was ejected from the competition following a physical altercation. Dube finished his Big Brother journey in 15th place, according to season records.

Although he left earlier than he would have liked, Dube appeared to take the experience positively.

Rather than allowing the eviction to define his time on the show, he focused on the friendships, lessons and memories he had gained.

What Dube Learned From the Show

After leaving the house, Dube said that the experience helped him learn more about himself.

He described the Big Brother house as intense, with every day feeling much longer because of the constant challenges, relationships and unexpected situations.

He also said that he discovered different sides of the people around him—and different sides of himself.

For someone who had worked so hard to get into the house, those lessons were arguably just as important as how far he progressed in the competition.

Life After Big Brother

Dube’s appearance on Big Brother Mzansi gave him a platform beyond his previous career as a telesales agent.

His confidence, style and interest in entertainment could potentially open doors in areas such as content creation, DJing, television and brand work.

More importantly, he now has the experience of appearing on one of South Africa’s biggest reality-TV platforms.

The exposure also allowed viewers to get to know the person behind the name Dube—a young man who had already experienced rejection but refused to give up.

Personal Life

Dube has generally kept his private life away from the spotlight.

Rather than focusing heavily on romantic relationships, much of his public identity has centred on his career ambitions, friendships and entertainment interests.

His comments after leaving the house suggest that he values genuine connections and appreciates the people who support him.

Family, in particular, has been important to him. He credited his family’s support with helping him deal with difficult moments surrounding his Big Brother journey.

Dube’s Legacy on Season 6

Dube may not have reached the final, but his story was memorable because of the journey it took to get there.

He had already been rejected by the Big Brother house once. Instead of giving up, he tried again.

When the opportunity finally arrived, he won Head of House, formed friendships with several contestants and became part of the season’s social and strategic dynamics.

His eviction after 35 days ended his competition, but it did not erase the achievement of finally making it into the house.
