Reality TV Star
Kokii Beuzana
hilani “Kokii” Beuzana is a South African model, actress and reality television personality who became known to a much wider audience after entering the Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 house in 2026.
Originally from Carletonville, Gauteng, Kokii was 26 when she joined Big Brother Mzansi: Bazozwa. She quickly stood out for her bold fashion, tattoos, confidence and outspoken personality. But behind that tough exterior was a much more vulnerable side. Kokii openly spoke about overcoming depression and how difficult experiences in her life had taught her that she was stronger than she sometimes believed.
Her time on Big Brother was relatively short, but it gave viewers an opportunity to see both sides of her personality: the confident entertainer and the sensitive woman who was still learning how to deal with her emotions.
Early Life and Background
Philani Beauzana comes from Carletonville in Gauteng, on the West Rand of South Africa.
Not much has been publicly documented about her childhood, family life or education, so Kokii has kept many of those details private. What she has spoken about openly is her personal journey and the challenges she has faced.
The name Kokii comes from her second name, Koketso, and eventually became the name by which television viewers came to know her.
From an early stage, Kokii developed an interest in creative and entertainment work. Public profiles have described her as a freelance model, video vixen and actress, while her original Big Brother Mzansi profile listed her without an occupation.

Building a Career in Entertainment
Before Big Brother Mzansi, Kokii had already been exploring the entertainment industry.
Her work as a model gave her an opportunity to express herself through fashion and photography, while her interest in acting opened another creative path.
She also developed a reputation for having a distinctive personal style. Kokii was not someone who seemed interested in blending into the background. Her tattoos, fashion choices and confidence became part of her public image.
Her appearance on Big Brother therefore felt like a natural extension of a personality that was already comfortable with attention and self-expression.
Overcoming Depression
One of the most important parts of Kokii’s story is her experience with depression.
When she entered the Big Brother house, she explained that her life had been filled with challenges and that overcoming depression had taught her that she was stronger than she thought. She saw the difficult experiences in her life as something that had prepared her for the pressure of the Big Brother house.
After leaving the show, Kokii gave viewers a much deeper look into that journey.
She revealed that her struggle with depression became particularly serious following the death of her grandmother. At one point, she recognized that she was not safe being alone and sought professional help, including admitting herself to a mental-health facility.
Kokii explained that she has learned to recognize her emotional triggers and understand herself better. She also described herself as someone who is naturally very emotional and admitted that she cries easily.
Rather than hiding that vulnerability, she has increasingly embraced it as part of who she is.
Entering Big Brother Mzansi
In January 2026, Kokii became one of the housemates on Big Brother Mzansi Season 6, Bazozwa.
She entered the competition at 26 years old, representing Carletonville, Gauteng.
Her introduction immediately attracted attention.
Kokii confidently compared herself to American rapper Doja Cat, joking that when people told her she looked like Doja Cat, her response was essentially that Doja Cat looked like her.
That playful confidence became one of her trademarks.
At the same time, Kokii admitted that she had been single for several years and had experienced a few “situationships.” She described physical touch as her love language.
Kokii’s Personality
Kokii was a mixture of confidence and vulnerability.
On the surface, she could come across as tough, outspoken and fearless. Her fashion choices and tattoos added to that image, and she was never afraid to speak her mind.
But beneath that exterior was someone who felt things deeply.
Her experience in the house showed that she could become emotionally overwhelmed, particularly when she felt isolated or disconnected from people she was comfortable around.
This contrast became one of the most interesting things about her Big Brother journey.
She could be the confident woman ready with a comeback one moment and an emotional, vulnerable person the next.

Life Inside the Big Brother House
Kokii’s experience inside the house was not always easy.
One of the biggest challenges came from Big Brother’s separation twist, which divided housemates according to gender.
Kokii explained after the show that she naturally felt more comfortable around men because she had grown up around boys. She stressed that this did not necessarily mean she wanted romantic relationships with them; rather, it was simply the environment she was accustomed to.
Being separated from that familiar social environment affected her emotionally.
The experience eventually contributed to tension and conflict within the house, particularly as she tried to adjust to the changing group dynamics.
The Party Girl Side of Kokii
Kokii also showed viewers that she knew how to have fun.
During the season’s first official Saturday-night party, she attracted attention for her daring outfit and carefree attitude. Her appearance generated plenty of discussion on social media, with viewers reacting to her bold fashion choice.
It was another example of Kokii refusing to be overly concerned about what other people thought of her.
Whether it was fashion, relationships or simply expressing herself, she appeared comfortable doing things her own way.
Kokii and Relationships
Kokii was open about romance and attraction but did not enter the house with a fixed relationship plan.
Before entering, she said she had been single for years and had experienced several situationships.
Her stated love language was physical touch, suggesting that physical affection and closeness were important to her in relationships.
During her time in the house, however, her social relationships were not simply about romance. Friendships and the changing alliances among the housemates were just as important.
Kokii’s difficulty with the gender-separation twist demonstrated how much she valued being around people with whom she felt naturally comfortable.
The Pressure of the Big Brother House
Living inside the Big Brother house meant that Kokii had very little privacy.
Every argument, friendship, party and emotional moment could potentially become part of the television show.
For someone already dealing with her own emotional challenges, that environment could be overwhelming.
Kokii later explained that when things became too much, she would sometimes retreat to her bed, cover herself with a blanket and cry quietly. She described herself as “very soft” emotionally, despite the tough image she sometimes projected.
That admission gave viewers a different understanding of the woman behind the Kokii persona.
The Kitchen Punishment
One particularly stressful moment came during one of Big Brother’s punishments.
Food, dishes and toilet paper were thrown around the kitchen, leaving the housemates with a major mess to clean.
Kokii initially threw herself into cleaning, but she was already exhausted after a heavy Saturday-night party.
The situation eventually became too much for her, and she went outside after becoming emotionally overwhelmed.
Although it was an uncomfortable moment, it also showed the reality of the show: contestants were not simply dealing with games and entertainment but with exhaustion, pressure and emotional stress.
Eviction From Big Brother Mzansi
Kokii’s Big Brother Mzansi journey came to an end on 8 February 2026.
She was evicted alongside Mshefane and Buhle B, becoming the sixth housemate to leave the competition.
Her eviction came much earlier than she had hoped.
For someone who entered the house determined to prove her strength, leaving early was undoubtedly disappointing. However, Kokii later reflected on the experience with honesty rather than simply focusing on the disappointment of being evicted.
She recognised that the experience had taught her important lessons about herself.
What Kokii Learned
After leaving the house, Kokii said that if she could go back to the beginning of the competition, she would tell herself not to “sleep on the job.”
She believed she had more to offer than she managed to show.
In particular, she wanted to remind herself that she could sing, act, model and dress, and that she should have showcased those talents more strongly during her time on the show.
That reflection is important because Kokii did not see Big Brother purely as a competition she lost.
Instead, she saw it as an opportunity that taught her what she needed to improve.
Life After Big Brother
Kokii’s eviction did not mark the end of her entertainment ambitions.
With experience in modelling and acting, along with the exposure gained from Big Brother Mzansi, she has several creative directions she can explore.
Her own reflections suggest that she wants to make better use of her talents in the future. Singing, acting, modelling and fashion are all areas she has identified as parts of her creative identity.
The public attention generated by Big Brother also gave her a much larger audience than she had before entering the show.

The Real Kokii
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Kokii is the contrast between her appearance and her personality.
Her tattoos, fashion and confidence can make her look extremely tough.
But she has openly admitted that she is sensitive, emotional and capable of being deeply affected by difficult situations.
Her story is therefore not simply about a confident reality-TV contestant.
It is also about a young woman who has experienced difficult periods in her life and is learning how to understand herself, manage her emotions and keep moving forward.
Philani “Kokii” Beauzana entered Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 as a 26-year-old from Carletonville with a bold personality, a love of fashion and a growing career in entertainment.
She quickly became one of the more distinctive housemates of Bazozwa. Her confidence, tattoos, outspoken nature and party spirit made her memorable, while her openness about depression revealed a much softer side.
Kokii was evicted on 8 February 2026, after a relatively short stay in the house.
