Issa Sisdoh

Issa Sisdoh, whose real name is Doreen Segolame Rabokhokho, is a Botswana-born singer, songwriter, model, and digital creator. She is gaining recognition across Southern Africa for her soulful voice, spiritual themes, and distinctive blend of African electronic music.

Born on March 29, 2003, in Kanye, Botswana, Issa has developed a musical identity that connects modern sounds with cultural heritage. Her growing popularity, particularly in South Africa, has helped introduce more listeners to her work and her Botswana roots.

Early Life and Musical Inspiration

Issa’s love for music began when she was young. At around 12, she enjoyed listening to international stars such as Justin Bieber and Chris Brown, alongside Botswana rapper A.T.I. Singing in church helped her develop her voice, and by age 14, she had started writing her own songs.

Initially, she imagined pursuing R&B, but her musical direction changed as she explored different sounds. After completing her Form 5 education in 2022, she entered a recording studio for the first time, with help from Baone SBomba, who introduced her to producer Biq J Musiq. That experience helped turn her musical ambitions into a professional career.

Music Career and Rise to Fame

Issa Sisdoh began experimenting with Amapiano before discovering a stronger connection with Afro-tech, Afro-house, and 3Step. These styles gave her room to combine electronic rhythms with emotional vocals and spiritual ideas.

One of her best-known songs is “Vuma Dlozi Lami,” which attracted attention across Southern Africa. Its spiritual themes and memorable rhythm helped establish her as an emerging artist with a distinctive approach to music. Another track, “Moya,” also contributed to her growing profile.

Her growing audience led to opportunities for collaborations with established names and music groups, including Heavy K, FME DJs, Nomakhosini SA, and Priscilla K. In 2024, she was also listed among the nominees for the Botswana Musicians Union Awards, including in the Best Newcomer category.

Outside music, Issa works as a model and digital creator, using online platforms to share content and connect with fans. She has expressed a desire to inspire young artists by showing that talent from Botswana can reach audiences across borders.
