Dominic Richmond

Dominic Richmond is a professional footballer of Montserratian international background who is working to establish himself in senior football. Born in England, he has progressed through youth football, competed in different domestic leagues, and represented Montserrat on the international stage. His journey reflects the determination needed to keep developing as a young player while adapting to new teams and football environments.

Early Life and Background

Dominic Samuel Richmond was born on March 18, 2006, in Preston, England. Although born and raised in England, he has Montserratian connections and chose to represent Montserrat in international football.

His football development began at Fleetwood Town, where he joined the club’s academy in 2016 as an under-11 player. Spending several years in a professional club’s youth system gave him opportunities to improve his technical ability, understand team tactics, and compete against other promising young footballers.

In 2022, Richmond signed a two-year scholarship with Fleetwood Town. This was an important step in his development, allowing him to continue progressing within the club’s academy structure. He left Fleetwood in 2024 as he looked for opportunities to continue his senior career.

Beginning His Senior Club Career

After leaving Fleetwood Town, Richmond began gaining experience in senior football. In September 2024, he made appearances for Longridge Town before moving to Colne, where he scored his first recorded senior league goal.

These early experiences helped him adjust to the physical demands and competitive nature of adult football. For young players moving out of academy systems, regular playing opportunities can be especially important for building confidence and learning to handle different match situations.

In 2025, Richmond made an international move to New Zealand to join PN Marist. He made an impressive start, scoring twice on his debut. During his time with the club, he scored seven goals in ten appearances, giving him valuable experience in a new football environment.

In September 2025, he joined Atherton Collieries in England, continuing his efforts to develop his career and earn more opportunities in senior football.

Representing Montserrat

Richmond’s international career began in 2023, when he received a call-up to the Montserrat national team. He made his senior debut against Guyana on March 29, 2023.

Later that year, he scored his first international goal against Barbados on November 20. Representing Montserrat has allowed him to connect with his Caribbean heritage while competing in international football.
