Kenny K-Shot

Kenny K-Shot, whose real name is Kenny Rulisa, is a Rwandan rapper and songwriter known for his energetic delivery, sharp lyrics, and modern approach to hip-hop. He has become a recognized name in Rwanda’s music scene, combining English and Kinyarwanda lyrics with influences from trap, drill, and contemporary rap. His music reflects his ambitions, personal experiences, and desire to inspire young people through creativity.

Although he is sometimes searched for alongside TikTok creators, Kenny K-Shot is primarily known for his music career rather than as a TikTok personality.

Early Life and Musical Interests

Kenny grew up in Kigali, Rwanda, and developed an interest in music when he was very young. In an interview with The New Times in October 2021, he explained that he listened to songs and memorized lyrics as a child. American rappers such as Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Drake influenced his musical taste and encouraged him to develop his own style.

As a teenager, Kenny teamed up with his childhood friend Getts Kent, also known as Shema Manzi Yves, to form a rap duo called Dope Crack. Their early work gave him valuable experience and helped him learn how to write, perform, and develop his identity as an artist.

Music Career and Rise to Recognition

Kenny K-Shot’s career developed through independent releases, collaborations, and performances. One of his early breakthrough songs was “Too Many,” which helped introduce his music to a wider Rwandan audience. He also gained attention through “Kantona,” a collaboration with ET Rw.

Rather than limiting himself to one language, Kenny moves between English and Kinyarwanda, giving his songs both international influences and a strong connection to his home country.

In October 2024, he released Intare 2, an album featuring collaborations with artists including Pro Zed, Kivumbi King, Bruce the 1st, and others. The project represented an important milestone after years of releasing shorter projects.

He has continued working on new music, including “Limitless,” released in 2026. The song explores discipline, ambition, personal growth, and believing in one’s potential.
