Liyema Pantsi Biography

Liyema “Liema” Pantsi is a South African singer, songwriter and reality-TV personality from the Eastern Cape. Born on 25 October 2001, Liema discovered her passion for music at a young age and grew up performing in church, at school and around her family.

Her first big taste of the spotlight came when she auditioned for Idols South Africa in 2020, where she received a Golden Ticket. She later released her first single, “Ain’t Worth It,” and began taking her music career more seriously.

Liema became a familiar face to South Africans when she entered Big Brother Mzansi Season 4 in 2024. Her bold personality, honesty and emotional moments on the show quickly made her popular with viewers. After the show, she continued working on her music and released songs including “Let Me Be,” “Amahloni” and “Impumelelo.”

Her talent was recognised at the 2025 Basadi in Music Awards, where she won Songwriter of the Year and Collaboration of the Year.

In 2026, Liema returned to the Big Brother Mzansi house for Season 6, this time determined to do things differently. Her comeback ended in a huge victory when she was crowned the season’s winner and took home the R2 million prize.

Liema’s journey is a story of growth, ambition and staying true to herself. From a young girl who loved singing to an award-winning musician and reality-TV winner, she has continued to prove that she is more than just a reality-TV personality—she is an artist building her own path in the entertainment industry.
