Reality TV Star
Velile “Que” Nongogo
Velile “Que” Nongogo is a South African reality TV personality who became widely known after appearing on Big Brother Mzansi Season 6, also known as Bazozwa, in 2026. Before entering the Big Brother house, Que worked as a corporate fleet analyst. He is from New Brighton in the Eastern Cape and was living in Johannesburg when he joined the show.
Early Life
Velile Chikwado Nongogo was born on March 26, 1998 in New Brighton, Eastern Cape, South Africa. His father is of Igbo (Nigerian) descent and mother is Xhosa.
He later moved to Johannesburg, where he began pursuing new opportunities and eventually entered the entertainment world.
Que has also spoken about his Igbo and Xhosa heritage and his desire to reconnect more deeply with his roots. For him, his background is an important part of understanding who he is and the kind of legacy he wants to build.

Career Before Big Brother
Before becoming a reality TV star, Que had a career in the corporate world. He worked as a corporate fleet analyst, a job that involved working with vehicle fleets and business operations. His professional life was therefore quite different from the entertainment career he is now exploring.
Although he had a stable corporate career, Que eventually decided that he wanted to try something different. Moving to Johannesburg opened the door to new opportunities and allowed him to explore his interest in entertainment, fashion and storytelling.
Big Brother Mzansi
Que entered the Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 house in January 2026 as one of the contestants on Bazozwa. At the time, he was introduced as a 27-year-old corporate fleet analyst from New Brighton who was living in Johannesburg.
Inside the house, Que described himself as “umuntu wabantu,” a phrase that reflects his belief that he is a people person. He said that being around strangers was not something that intimidated him and that he was comfortable expressing himself and connecting with others.
His personality on the show was quite different from the loud and confrontational style sometimes associated with reality television. Big Brother Mzansi described him as a calm and composed underdog who often kept a low profile while still becoming involved in important moments. His ability to stay composed during tense situations became one of the things that defined his game.
Que managed to survive deep into the competition and reached the Top 6. This was a significant achievement considering the number of contestants who entered the house at the beginning of the season.
He eventually became the third housemate to be evicted during the finale, finishing among the season’s finalists. Liema ultimately won the season, while Thandeka finished as runner-up.
Personality and Relationships
One of Que’s defining characteristics is his calm and confident personality. During his time in the Big Brother house, he was generally seen as someone who could handle pressure without easily losing his composure. His journey also showed a more thoughtful side of his personality as he dealt with friendships, disagreements and the pressures of the competition.
Que has said that his preferred love languages are acts of service and quality time. He explained that people give and receive affection in different ways, and understanding those differences is important in relationships.
Fashion and Entertainment
After Big Brother, Que began looking beyond reality television. His fashion sense and personal style became an important part of his public image, and he has expressed interest in working in fashion campaigns, acting and television presenting.
Rather than seeing Big Brother as the final destination, Que views it as a starting point for a much bigger career. He has spoken about wanting to take on creative projects that allow him to tell stories and challenge himself emotionally and professionally.
Life After Big Brother
Following his time on Big Brother Mzansi, Que has been focused on building his identity outside the reality-show environment. He has talked about leaving his corporate career behind and reconnecting with his cultural roots while exploring opportunities in entertainment and fashion.
For Que, fame is not necessarily the main goal. He has said that he wants his legacy to be bigger than fame and hopes his journey can encourage young Africans to believe that they can pursue more than one dream or career path.
