Victor James Osimhen, born December 29, 1998, is a Nigerian professional footballer who played as a striker for Napoli, Galatasaray and the Nigeria national team. He is best known for his finishing, intelligence, pace, strength, and athleticism, and is considered one of the world’s top strikers.

Osimhen grew up in Olusosun, Lagos, near a landfill, experiencing poverty early in life. Following his mother’s death and his father losing his job, he worked and sold goods to survive. He found refuge in football, playing without boots or with salvaged ones, and was inspired by Didier Drogba. 

Osimhen started his career at Ultimate Strikers Academy in Nigeria. He later played for VfL Wolfsburg, Charleroi, and Lille, before a significant move to Napoli in 2020, becoming the most expensive African transfer at the time. He played a key role in Napoli’s 2023 Serie A title win, becoming the league’s top scorer and the highest-scoring African player in Serie A history. He was loaned to Galatasaray for the 2024–25 season, where he was again the top scorer and won a domestic double. He later signed a permanent four-year contract with Galatasaray, marking the highest transfer fee in Turkish football history.
