Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Nwaturuocha was born on July 12, 1975, in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. The youngest of four children, she comes from the royal Nwaturuocha family.

Family and Education: Her parents, a medical doctor and a nursing officer, were both healthcare professionals. Dominic began acting at age five in television dramas and later earned a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt in 1999.

Rita Dominic is a veteran multiple award-winning Nigerian actress, producer, and media personality known for her extensive and successful career in the Nollywood film industry.

She is celebrated for her talent and versatility, having earned numerous awards over the decades.

Career: Dominic’s official acting career started in 1998 with A Time to Kill. She has appeared in over 100 films, including Shattered (2012), The Meeting (2012), and ’76 (2016), and is a co-founder of The Audrey Silva Company with Mildred Okwo. Her awards include the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Shattered, and she is the first actress to win the Best Actress award in both Drama and Comedy categories at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. She has also won a Kalasha Award for Best Actress in Kenya.
