Jean Éric Maxim Choupo-Moting is a German-Cameroonian footballer who played for Cameroon national team and for Major League Soccer (MLS) club New York Red Bulls . He was born on the 23rd of March 1989 in Altoona, Hamburg, Germany; to a Cameroonian father, Camille Just Choupo-Moting  and a German mother Ina Fottker. His father is from the Bamileke ethnic group.

Started his senior career at Hamburger SV in 2007. He later played for Mainz 05, Schalke 04, Stoke City, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Bayern Munich, and joined the New York Red Bulls in December 2024. He had a loan spell at FC Nürnberg during the 2009–10 season.
