Nigerian actress Ekene Cynthia Umenwa popularly known as Angel Palazzo was born on 27th of August 1991 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, and hails from Igbo Ukwu, Anambra State.
The versatile Nollywood actress and entrepreneur is the first of three daughters to Mr. Dozie Umenwa and Mrs. Lucy Ogoamaka Umenwa; her sisters Kate and Somto.

She obtained a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Ebonyi State University around 2014–2015.

Ekene made her debut in the Nollywood industry in 2011 with the film King After Kings, and gained recognition for her role in Black Choir in 2013. Throughout her career, she has shared the screen with prominent actors such as Destiny Etiko, Zubby Michael, Ken Erics, and Kanayo O. Kanayo.
