Drew Dean

Drew Dean is a singer, songwriter, and recording artist from Saint Kitts and Nevis who has developed a distinctive sound by blending R&B, soul, hip-hop, reggae, and Afrobeats. Known for his smooth vocals and uplifting musical style, he brings a Caribbean touch to contemporary soul music. His songs explore love, hope, personal growth, and positivity, making him an artist with a sound that reaches beyond traditional genre boundaries.

Early Life and Background

Drew Dean was born Andrew Dean Williams in Saint Kitts. He comes from a mixed Caribbean background, with a Nevisian mother and a Jamaican father. Because of his father’s profession, he spent parts of his early childhood moving between different Caribbean islands, including the Netherlands Antilles, Montserrat, and Dominica.

Music became part of his life at a very young age. He began showing an interest in singing when he was around three years old and started singing in church at four. He later participated in children’s and youth choirs, gaining experience that helped shape his vocal abilities.

In 1999, Drew moved to Nevis, where he became more involved in local music and regularly performed at community events and talent shows. His talent earned recognition in 2003 when he received a Palm Music Award from the Nevis Cultural Department as Best Male Contemporary Artist.

Education and Musical Beginnings

Drew’s passion for music eventually led him to audition for Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He was accepted in 2007 and began studying there in 2008, with plans to focus on music business management and voice.

However, he left the institution in 2009 because of financial challenges and his desire to pursue a professional recording career. That same year, he officially launched his solo career under the name Drew Dean.
